  1. Forscan reset all adaptations

    Its a 2021 with the 5.0 btw
  2. Forscan reset all adaptations

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has a concrete answer on weather or not its safe to use the reset all adaptations on forscan. I recently used it to reset my transmission shift strategy and now the transmission shifts great and its so much more smooth. A google search seems to give me...
  3. Engine pinging/soark knock

Yes I actually ran 3 tanks of e85 through my truck and yesterday I went back to 89 and the problem is totally gone. Weirdest thing.
  4. Engine pinging/soark knock

I'm open to any ideas as to what it could he. Initially I thought it was valve train noise too. I'm going to try different oil next. The engine runs great and is dead silent until it makes the noise it makes. It does it right around 4k rpm on the dot every time and then sometimes it does it more...
  5. Engine pinging/soark knock

Next I will try to get some data on what the igntion timing is doing. I will also try some octane boosters maybe and see what it does. All the dealers around me are a joke and don't want to diagnose anything without CEL lights on. So I'm gunna be on own.
  6. Engine pinging/soark knock

Mine is more of a metallic sound. Looked up some videos of the type writer tick. Totally different to mine. Mine sounds more like someone smacking the separator plate with a hand rachet. Will definitely try full synthetic a shot.
  7. Engine pinging/soark knock

Yes that is what's next on my diagnostic list. No matter what it is. It's loud enough I can hear it in the cab. Any knocking or ticking or detention is not normal for a new truck. The dealer and Ford didn't seem to share my opinion.
  8. Engine pinging/soark knock

I personally changed my oil on the other oil changes. It's not just this oil change that it has had this noise. 5-20 vs 5-30 isn't a huge difference. Some manufacturers even recommend one or the other for fuel economy reasons and ambient temperatures.
  9. Engine pinging/soark knock

Nothing done to the truck it is totally bone stock. Like I said above the dealer put 5-20 in it when they did the recall for the oil life sensor.
  10. Engine pinging/soark knock

The difference between 5-20 and 5-30 wouldn't be enough to really change much. 5-20 is what the dealer put in when I got the recall done for the oil life sensor.
  11. Engine pinging/soark knock

Is it a common issue on the 5.0s to have detention? I get its a 12:1 compression ratio but it should have enough igntion timing control to keep pining away. Especially with 93 octane. It didn't have any when I first got the truck. And I used to only run 87 in it. Is there anyway to reset the...
  12. Engine pinging/soark knock

Engine oil weight wouldn't effect detonating in the cylinders. It has to do with igntion timing and fuel octane. But I can try changing to a 5-30 I'm just not sure what it will change.
  13. Engine pinging/soark knock

I use motor craft 5-20 every oil change with a fl500s motor craft filter
  14. Engine pinging/soark knock

Hello, I have a 21 5.0 f150. I have been experiencing engine pinging for about 8k miles the truck only has anout 19k. I've tried 87, 89, 93 octane fuel from several different gas stations around me. I had the truck at a dealer for almost 2 months to diagnose the noise im hearing. For them to...
  15. Clicking under heavy load.

Hello, I am new to this forum so hopefully I'm putting this thread in a good spot. Basically the issue I am having is at around 4k rpm and under heavy load it sounds like there is a click coming from somewhere under the truck. Sometimes it will do it a couple more times sometimes it won't. It...
