I actually have had the touring and S type on my 23 f150. I ended up sticking with the touring because the s type was just too loud for me. The touring is more like stock but you can actually hear it compared to stock. I went with dual exits because I added the cutouts and had a muffler shop...
I purchased these. These come from Ford Performance. After seeing the price they were asking for stock oem Bap vents I went this route. These are less expensive than oem. Only problem is these sell fast, then everyone out of stock again.
There tunes are not one size fits all. When you purchase a tuner from them you will send them the stock tune profile of your truck. They will use that to make adjustments for you specific requests. When I purchased my trans tune I told them the issues I was having and they made adjustments. Skip...
I purchased the ford performance tune for my 23 f150 3.5 ecoboost a while back. My main reason for purchase was hoping the tune would clean up some of the awkward shifting of the transmission. Well, I can honestly say it helped a little but not much. The tune did wake the truck up. Made it more...
You got a good point. There’s definitely a risk involved in tuning. You can purchase a power train warranty thru most tuners. 5 star offers one that basically covers anything that could possibly be denied by factory warranty or extended warranty if they deem it related to a tune.
I didn’t tell them which drive mode I drive in. Majority of my driving is normal or tow haul. The tune did seem to change tow haul a little bit not for the worse
Yea, it wasn’t cheap. Thru 5 star you get 3 tunes and tuner and the credits needed for truck for around 700. A shame to have to spend so much to make an already expensive truck work correctly. I don’t understand why ford does not use some of these type tunes on there new trucks. I’m sure it has...
So this is a follow-up to a comment I made on this thread. I’ve owned two f150 with the 10 speed a 2020 and currently a 2023. Both trucks exhibited the same shift issues. The torque converter lock up between 3 and 4 was awful. If you were in town traffic seemed like it would lag on shifting up...
What a tech would really like to tell you is have it tuned and you’ll be happy but he can’t. I’ve owned to 10 speeds both were like yours. I have a 23 currently and I’m waiting on my tune to come in. I couldn’t take anymore.
Nice truck. I love mine too. I loved my 2020 so much I got another one. If you can get past the rough idle and quirky trans shifting it’s awesome truck. Fun to drive.
