  1. Insurance Change - 22 to 24

Yes. Inflation, rising wages, and litigation are colluding to cause claim costs to skyrocket. It’s definitely not specific to F-150s. Insurance carriers are generally losing money on auto insurance even with increased rates. Every time you pass a billboard promising big legal payouts for your...
  2. From the 3.5 to the 5.0

I have never driven a 5.0 at sea level. It must be a much different experience. I live at 4500 feet and my 2017 2.7 EB did a much better job towing my 3500 lb boat up over 7000 feet than a 2020 5.0 I had. Would like to try a 5.0 in some dense air, but until then it’s forced induction for the win...
  3. Power Reduced To Lower Engine Temperature

This matches my experience. My truck had the same malady; the heat exchanger got hot enough to melt the wiring harness on the top of it and required replacing wiring as well.
  4. Powerboost CEL P237C/Exhaust Heat Exchanger Leak Megathread

Hopefully I’m on the tail end of a very similar experience. My dealer said I could keep driving mine. I started getting the “reduced power” warnings when on the freeway so I’ve not driven it much. The dealer replaced the exchanger after many weeks of waiting, but discovered that by driving the...
  5. Exhaust Heat Exchanger

My 2022 PB is currently in the shop for this exact thing. The CEL came on in mid March, and after some discussion with the service department I was told I could drive it while I waited the “two weeks“ for the part to arrive. No coolant leaks. I quickly found that putting any exertion on the...
  6. Get a load of this…

Decades ago I worked at one such place. One time we had a guy come in with a special oil request—I don’t recall if it was synthetic or some unusual brand/viscosity, but I watched my boss, the store manager, use house oil because we were out of whatever the guy wanted. He didn’t tell the guy...
  7. Powerboost CEL P237C/Exhaust Heat Exchanger Leak Megathread

The CEL on my 2022 pb came on March 16. I was taking it to the dealer a few days later to have the active air dam replaced (a story for another time) and was told the CEL was likely related and they had cleared it as part of the repair. I wasn’t more than 1/2 mile from the dealer when it came...
  8. Powerboost Exhaust Heat Exchanger Delete

Welp, my pb with 6k miles is currently throwing the CEL and DTC P2C23. No drips on the garage floor. Dealer looked it over and ordered the replacement, says we’re two weeks out for the replacement part and I’m good to drive it while we wait. Admittedly I don’t really understand the design. Is...
  9. Pedestrian Alert System - Anyone else annoyed by it?

As much as I like my pb, the dump truck sound is enough to make me wish I’d just gone with an eb. I was backing into a parking spot at work the other day (underground garage) and the facilities manager came walking around the corner, presumably to see who was bringing in heavy equipment. I’m...
