I had a 21 XLT 5.0 and miss it. I have a Raptor now and don't get me wrong, the Raptor is better in just about every way except for MPG. I loved the sound of my 5.0 with a corsa exhaust though, and with how the economy is right now, I could use the money from trading in the equity on my Raptor...
Dang yeah if you got MTI local to you, then you should totally pay them a visit. They can probably put something together that you'll be real happy with. James recommended me what to do and they built two enclosures for me, I have been super happy with em.
Idk if you actually mean just run an amp to the rear speakers and a sub, but if you do that would sound horrible. Just run a sub amp with subs and maybe install a sound treatment package from Soundsgoodstereo or MTI acoustics. Having upgraded my system in steps on my Raptor, I can tell you that...
If you have B&O you're going to spend a good chunk of money to run any kind of amp. I am running an Audison 12 channel amp with DSP, and Kicker CXA1800.1 and 4 JL Audio 10tw3s for my subs, all behind my rear seats on an amp rack. Still had to buy the PAC FD-31 as well to integrate everything.
That's awesome to hear! I been wanting to replace the stock dash speakers myself and keep em in the stock location, which speakers did you use? You're so right didn't realize either that the tuning would be the time consuming part.
The rack could hold itself up from just the pressure of fitting with the contours of the carpet, but those screws are going to two holes that the stock amp was mounting to before, so no new holes or anything.
They're fantastic man, they have a really strong punch. On the stock B&O DSP they had a ton of bass and you'd really feel the doors hitting. The tweeters that come with them sound good too a little warm but plenty loud.
I will preface this and say that I am by no means a real audiophile enthusiast. I had 2021 XLT 5.0 that I had done door speakers (Alpine Type R 6x9 components), a small 4 channel kenwood amp behind the screen, and 2 JL audio 10w1v3s in a sealed premade BBox ensclosure. This sounded awesome in...
To make a long story short I no longer have my 21 F-150 and I had ordered a Ford Performance skid plate kit. The kit arrived now and I will need to try to return it but the box is huge and shipping will cost a fortune. So throwing this out there if a local member is interested in the kit I can...
If any of you are local to the Portland OR area and have been wanting to do this, I have a complete kit I will sell you brand new in box for $350. Feel free to PM me.
I made a similar decision. I ordered a RCSB 2024 in gray and waited patiently for about 5 months, just a month short though of waiting long enough. I was in a lease for an EV and saw an opportunity to get rid of my lease for a supercrew 2021 XLT with the 5.0. Loved the features, loved the truck...
In my Civic Type R, my Kicker Key is running off the fusebox with no issues. I have a 2011 Civic SI as well with a small Kenwood 400w amp that is running off the same power as the headunit and it works just fine. Shop installed it that way and they do all the mini amps like that without issues.
