I too am in New Brunswick and have a 2021, but I have the broken stuck updates.
Which dealer service dept did your APIM swap? I have had really bad luck with Downey Ford (their own work order notes show they drain the battery when trying to do the IPMA updates...). Would love to bring it...
I went through a saga with my electrical issue on my 2021 F-150 PowerBoost. In the end, a section of wiring harness was replaced. My issues were much different than yours and resulted in the inability to start the vehicle, and the dealer was able to reproduce the issue early on in my story... so...
I wonder if some of these "prepare for future updates" are related to the digital signatures of the software. Given the modules have disparate manufacturers who also provide their respective software, it's somewhat likely that the certificate chain of trust needs to be updated semi-frequently to...
Feature idea for Ford: security key rotation for fobs. Maybe some sort of additional authentication / proof of identification in FordPass, and then a 15 minute window to put any fobs in the cup holder to change/rotate their keying to the BCM. Then stolen fobs become a non-issue, and replacing...
Since getting our truck back, there have been two days with ideal conditions that would have previously triggered the condition... I am getting dangerously confident (~95%) that the problem won't return. Still, it was intermittent even when it was happening, so time will tell.
A lot of companies that offer subscription services to their software fail to deliver a compelling value in the long term. I can understand paying monthly for something that regularly receives feature updates, bugfixes, and security patches. Even if the vehicle OTAs moved to a subscription...
Either they had too many failed update attempts on the APIM, or the timer expired after the first attempt, security locking the APIM. If this is the same update/OTA failure as 22-2404, this disclaimer applies, and I would wager they ran into it:
Thanks for looking.
This is the same/updated CSP TSB that I've been at them to do for a while. Maybe now that they've replaced some wiring harness it has a better chance of success. We had a loaner 2022 F150 v8 with all the updates, and it is definitely lighting a fire to buy a mongoose and...
Just curious where I just got my vehicle back from the shop if there is anything different/new on FDRS/OTAs. Noticed my profile radio settings were reset, but my wife's were fine (they had my keys).

Update on my 2021 PB: it spent the past month with the dealer service department and we got it back today.
The first week they had it, they tried pulling an aux battery out of a known good PB and swapping it into our vehicle, but that didn't solve the problem. So they did a ton of pinpoint and...
You bet they are aware of the issues! Especially with outlets like Consumer Reports give the '23 PowerBoosts an absolutely appalling reliability score... I was ready to trade my '21 PB with issues and try to get into a new one with a hope and prayer that my luck would be better. Well, we've...
Thanks for clearing that up. I'm hyper-fixating on the problem maybe a bit too much, but it's important to me that I understand why the failure occurred in the first place. Even if we're able to get this fixed, I won't be able to trust it again unless I know the exact failure scenario. This is...
I just re-read that and the aux battery isolator is in the engine bay; it is apparently not the hall effect sensor on the neutral wire near the aux battery.
Ran again in the evening yesterday after cooling off. Disconnecting the aux battery isolator doesn't result in a no start condition. Although, I am pretty confident the vehicle enters this state well before attempting to start the vehicle. There are a few tells that it's not going to start as...
