  1. Ranger to F-150

A year ago when I was looking at trucks, I was set on a mid-sizer. Colorado, Ranger or the Frontier. I liked the interior of the Frontier, but the poor payload kept me away since we wanted a camper, but they were aggressive on pricing. The Ranger was extremely dated (23') at the time. I liked...
  2. “Super 8.8” a bit more than a name

Interesting. So my 2.7 is 3525/3400. A similar SCREW 5.0 is 3450 (or 3600)/3800 from what I've gathered online. So I've got slightly stiffer springs up front and slightly softer springs in the rear. That also explains why my 502A has a payload of 1450 vs around 1900 for a similar 5.0 502A. In...
  3. “Super 8.8” a bit more than a name

So what's the difference between the 3400 and 3800 GAWR 8.8's? Specifically on the 2.7's that are rated for 6600 GVWR and the 5.0 with the same frame / 8.8 rear end rated for 7050.
  4. Do you like your 2,7 ecoboost or wish you bought 5.0?

Probably unfair, but I live in Denver, so altitude kills all NA engines. When looking for a truck I test drove a RAM 1500 HEMI, Silverado 5.3, and then the 2.7, 5.0 and 3.5PB F150's. In the 20-25 minute test drives we did, the V8's seemed to be all noise and weren't nearly as reactive. The PB...
  5. Do you like your 2,7 ecoboost or wish you bought 5.0?

I specifically sought out the 2.7 for reliability, low end torque and gas mileage. The 5.0 was the worst of the engines I test drove IMHO. Same with the 5.3 and 5.7 in the Silverado/RAM. The turbo engines are just more fun around town and quieter.
