  1. Recurrent pinion seal leak

Mine started leaking for a 4th (or 5th?) time about 300 miles after the last repair. Traded it for an AT4x 6.2, MUCH better truck in my opinion. I know all the half tons today are basically turds and each has its problems. But I’ll say the high trim GMC trucks have ford beat on interior quality...
  2. Recurrent pinion seal leak

This is exactly what’s happening. Small issue with a seal leak turns into a mechanical nightmare due to inept repairs
  3. Recurrent pinion seal leak

Well I got about 350 miles out of my 3rd seal replacement. Going back to the dealer next month for its 4th seal. Sounds like it’s time to look at the AT4X

    Appreciate the info man!
  5. 2026 Order Bank

Anybody have any clue when the 2026 build sheets will be released? I feel like ford is already late this year
  6. Recurrent pinion seal leak

Same boat on the frustration part. I had planned to write a check for the balance on mine and buy a dark horse and trailer for racing season since my f150 would be perfect towing it but now I’m just going to buy a new truck. Really annoying
  7. Recurrent pinion seal leak

Pay attention and listen for the whine/roar/vibration around 40mph when you get it back
  8. Recurrent pinion seal leak

your pinion bearing and related parts (not sure what all it is) needs replaced. Same thing happened to me and that’s what they had to do to fix it
  9. Recurrent pinion seal leak

yeah I think I’m getting an at4x probably after the issues I’ve had with mine. Not real crazy about writing a big pay off check for a truck that’s going to give me problems the rest of its life.
  10. Recurrent pinion seal leak

Funny you mention tail shaft, here are some photos I took of that area this afternoon 😂
  11. Recurrent pinion seal leak

It’s been pretty coated both times I caught it but it appears to be leaking from what I assume is between the mating surface and the seal. I put a photo and arrow in an attempt to show it
  12. Recurrent pinion seal leak

I believe this exact sequence you describe happened to me. Based on the service records: 2/24/25 - replaced seal, locking nut, and added grease. Got truck back, whining/roaring rear differential. Took truck back to deal on the following date. 3/14/25 - replacement parts were cup, 3 bearing...
  13. Recurrent pinion seal leak

I believe this was likely the cause of the differential issues I had after the first replacement
  14. Recurrent pinion seal leak

Mine was the same way. First seal had a decent drip puddling in my garage floor. Second one I caught before it got that bad. I may just watch it to see how it holds up closer to warranty expiration and make a call at that point.
  15. Recurrent pinion seal leak

So we’ve either got a bad design, bad run of parts, or incompetence in the technician making the repair. Or some combination of all three. Is this problem giving any of you pause when considering long term ownership? I was planning to pay my truck off in a lump sum and drive it for as long as...
