Ok that makes sense. I've had it run for about 10 min constantly, and the pump is warm, but the copper and brass parts get extremely warm. But again that's excessive use. I only put the heat shield there in case I have cargo or a passenger on that seat and I can't lower it down to use it.

Do you have a heat shield on your compressor? I removed mine for the photo, but I have it made with 1/8" aluminum to protect the seat material from getting hot and potentially catching fire.

Do you have the solar panel wired into a charging system, or just plugged into a 12v cigarette outlet in the truck? I was debating on mounting a smaller solar panel on the roof behind the panoramic glass, so it doesn't obscure the view. Just wasn't sure if I wanted to plug it into a 12v plug, or...
