Perhaps its the gas? I only drop Sunoco in. The 87 is 1- 2 MPG less.

I have the V8. Drove the 3.5 EB. Sure there's a bit more snot at initial pedal stab with the EB, but the V8 likes to rev, and its a very strong, predictable rev. My buddy has a 3.5 EB in his 21 XLT. same gas milage as my V8. Cant go wrong, less moving parts, great sound, great grunt.
