Funny you said nuts and bolts. That's exactly how I put my 2021 ecoboost back together. The splined bolt heads were a pitta to get out.

I can turn it off every time I start the pickup. I would just like it to default to off. Yes it's the smallest inverter.

I get a message every time I start the pickup about a "Ground Fault" during wet weather. I haven't had the message all summer. When that message pops up, there are 2 options. Reset which only repeats the "Ground Fault" message again or cancel which removes the message. No I have never tried...

I don't know. The only time I tried to use, it wouldn't work because of the ground fault. Service department where I bought it gave me the "Deer in the headlights" look when I asked about the problem.

On my 2021 I don't think the tailgate locks with the doors. There is really no need to. The tailgate won't open unless the key fob is in my pocket or probably in the pickup.
