So what does it mean when Activate Vehicle shows up in the Ford App? Mine showed up today!!!!

Maybe you can use it to remotely drive it to your dealership

I got that a few days ago too. I'm assuming it means the truck's modem is online.

Just chatting with the ford performance guys - they say if you have a delivery date then it's probably not on chip hold. Also:

but usually when that is the case the vehicle was picked up by the trucking convey from the plant. The trucking convoys do not have a means to update the system like the train and rail yards do. Plus with it showing you an estimated date of arival, that is a very good sign."

I just had the same chat with Performance Ford. He said the Primary status is "In production" but the secondary is "Built". He said that me having an estimated delivery date means they are not waiting on anything but shipping. Sometimes the Primary status never gets updated for various reasons and it may stay like that until it hits the dealer's lot. My build date was 8/4 with an end date of 9/21.

I seem to be following about a day behind you on all steps up to now, cBaka... I'll let you know if I get the 'Activate Vehicle' option sometime tomorrow.

Strangely, the window sticker link in the shop.ford.com site has reverted to "check back later" for me. Ruh roh. On the positive side, the full truck details have shown up on the owner's dashboard, and shows the truck firmware was updated on 8/4. So it seems like it's alive out there somewhere....

What is this 'owner's dashboard' of which you speak?

EDIT: NVM, found it! Though where does one find the Firmware data?

https://www.ford.com/support/vehicle-dashboard/, if you have a Ford.com account it should show you vehicles that you've entered on your FordPass app, that's what it did for me. Still looking for the firmware data Bangheadhere was talking about, though

This is great news! I'm hoping my dealership is just incompetent again and my truck shows up before september

I have an activate vehicle button but you can't actually activate it without being inside the truck to acknowledge the activation on the screen. The website showed sync update dates maybe that's what he's talking about?

Right. Same here. I'm thinking Bangheadhere was in luck and someone on the other end activated for him (?). Otherwise, I dont believe the service record (FW update history) would be available.

I think you have to be in the truck to activate it the first time.

I see the updates section. But says FordPass has to be activated to see the details. I would assume a transport driver hit the button in the truck to activate it so people can see the info. Which isn’t the case for me.
