Message I'm getting when trying to access Pro Power,

Pro Power Onboard detected a ground fault and turned off the affected circuit. If you did not press the Test button, see Owner's Manual.
I've tried to re-set on screen yet not able to do so.
Also, I'm not able to use USB charging port to charge my cell phone.
Brought it to my Ford dealer on 8/18/2025 for service under warranty and service agent tells me their service department is backed up!
Today 8/23/2025 the service department might be able to start trouble shooting my 2024 F150 King Ranch PB Hybrid.
Anyone else have similar problem and what was the results of repair required.
Thanks in advance

If you didn't press the test button, then you have an issue. If you did press test, then the confusing message is as designed.

Does the 120v outlet inside the cab work?

I got that message about once a week, usually when it was cool and rainy. I was sure it was a wiring issue. Took it to Ford, they did a software update, and I haven't had a problem since.

Color me shocked, but that was about 6 months ago.

Well here it is Saturday 8/23/2025 and the dealer informs me still no info after 5 days there. They say they’re backed up in service dept so I believe they haven’t looked at it yet!
I’m thinking of getting my truck and taking it to another dealer that isn’t backed up as they’re claiming to be.
Any thoughts on this problem?
Thanks in advance

My dealer typically has a 3 day backup for initial diagnosis. Ask what their wait time is. If you go to another dealer, you will start at the end of the line again.

There's a couple of things that you could check yourself. The panel in the bed has been suspect on a few trucks around here over the years. And there's a main harness connector under the truck behind the driver's rear tire, that is subjected to the elements.

You might locate that connector and open it to see if there's evidence of corrosion or a bent/misaligned pin. Some of us wrap that connector to protect it from the harshest weather elements too. Mine is inside a piece of pool noodle and taped up good, after I confirmed all was well within.

You can do a similar inspection of the bed distribution panel. It removes easy enough and you can look for anything suspect.

I know you are under warranty and it might seem silly to use your own efforts to troubleshoot.

My 2021 PB did this all the time when it was raining or snowing. The dealer replaced the outlet panel in the bed and it fixed the issue.

I have that problem with my 2021 Ecoboost with ProPower. Happens during the winter months. Take a look at the exposed wiring connections under the driver side rear in front of the bumper.
I'm in North Idaho, so we have some water splashing on those connections.

That had to be one of Fords better ideas.

I hate to say this, but my 2021 eco boost isn't the best pickup I have ever owned.

But your previous pickups didn't have better ProPower. Right? 😁

Sorry, couldn't resist

I don't know. The only time I tried to use, it wouldn't work because of the ground fault.
Service department where I bought it gave me the "Deer in the headlights" look when I asked about the problem.

When you stated it has issues in the winter months, I assumed you had used it often enough to know it didn't have issues in the not-winter months.

I get a message every time I start the pickup about a "Ground Fault" during wet weather. I haven't had the message all summer. When that message pops up, there are 2 options. Reset which only repeats the "Ground Fault" message again or cancel which removes the message.

No I have never tried to use Pro Power and probably never will. It is 2021 XLT. I bought it during Covid. It was the only XLT on the lot. I have cordless power tools and a generator. Why would I wear out my pickup to do the same jobs.

Now if I had a choice a pickup with Pro Power would stay on the lot.

I tried 2 dealers to get the default to Pro Power set to off in the computer codes. Both said they could not do it. One dealer even said, I would need to get Pro Scan and do it myself. I did get Pro Scan and have been into the program so far only succeeded in turning off double chime when I exit the running pickup with the remote in my pocket. At 75 years of age, even though I'm fairly computer literate, it would not be my preferred way to get it done.

I think you mean Forscan?

You could try unplugging the distribution panel in the bed of the truck. If that is the source of the fault, it would no longer throw that error. Of course it might nag about being unplugged in some manner, but I don't know for sure.

Why would ProPower wear your truck out? I have yet to even hear about a Powerboost that has "worn out". 😁
