How? I have dim mirror on my towing mirrors but it's not working.
When I picked up the mirrors we noticed that they had the auto dimming capability. Now I either could have been swapped it out with my current tow mirror glass or leave it. The employee at The body shop recommended that I install the complete wire harness if I wanted it to work. I wanted to install a harness anyways. We confirmed that my rear view mirror has the auto dimming. last night me and a buddy went out driving around and when a car was behind me it looked like the left tow mirror was tinted. When I backed into my driveway we noticed that both the tow mirror and the rear view mirror started to get brighter. Definitely a good catch by The body shop employee. I mean I guess I could have got a wiring diagram and figured it out, but this was so much easier.

My tow mirrors are 21-23 platinum and did bring the auto dimming mirror.

Mine are taken off a 25' Platinum. The entire reason I did this was because of my 360 overhead view / stitching issues. I wanted mirrors that were off a 24' or later. I figured while I was going through all this work why not make them power. The cameras on these mirrors are also a different engineering number than what came with my truck. My overhead 360 view / stitching also improved.

I can tell you after getting the trial For the motorcraft manual and looking at wire diagrams. there's no reason why it wouldn't work on my truck.

Finally figure out my issue with telescoping in/out. Have place one pin in wrong spot at DDM black plug.

Very nice.

So to summarize in my head….you have 21-23 Platinum tow mirrors and you didn’t get any particular wiring harness, you spliced into the existing harness and/or added new wires to the pins as per the pinout diagram and that was it? Forgot but did the 360 cams on the 21-23 Platinum mirrors work and stitch well? Did you wire the extend switch or did you have a harness/connector plug ins?

Thanks! So happy you beat Ford on this! ?

The cameras into swap my 24 in the tow mirrors I did not re calibrate as they look good. I just build the jumper harness from telescoping switch to ddm and from ddm/pdm to mirrors

I have started putting the parts together for the swap on my 2023 XLT 302a. Just wanted to ask for some group wisdom. I can get my hands on Lariat side mirrors taken off a 2021 truck. Are they going to work on a 2023? My guess would be yes, but thought I'd check with the gang here.

So I can provide part numbers later. The used harnesses from the body shop only had power fold. I went ahead and ordered new harnesses for a 24+ that have telescoping. It cost about $380 for both, but I already have the existing harnesses sold for $200 so... We thought that I would only need the driver side, but I was missing the telescoping wires on the passenger side as well.

My dealership took a VIN number from a 25' f150 Platnium with tow mirrors and that's how he found the wire harnesses for me. They work on the 24 and the 25.

I had to use the Platinum harness because of the auto dimming and again it's currently working. I plan on doing the swap this weekend.

You could have pulled the wires needed out of your driver's door harness (factory)
