2024 Dual Exhaust Confusion? - Lariat BAP 5.0L - 157"WB

Alright ya'll

I need some clarification. I ordered a 2024 Lariat BAP 5.0L with a PAT, It finally arrived! As I circled the truck to my dismay it had a thin walled silver single exit rear exhaust. I was shocked and a little pissed off (1st world problems I know) But I was under the impression it would be built with the black dual exhaust.

Can any help me with some clarification here as to why it does not? Some factors I am considering that might be the issue.

-It's a 157" Wheelbase mode
-It has the added factory step?
-It has a PAT (high doubt this would affect it)

For a $95,000 (CDN$) Truck I feel like this is a cheap looking setup.

I've waited a few months for this and the dealer didn't seem to know any reason why it would/wouldn't have duals. He said I could order another one but when built on the Ford builder it shows the dual exhaust and I really don't want to wait again

I really want the black pre-axle CORSA so that just might be an excuse.

It’s definitely the 157” wheelbase. I don’t think Fords dual setup is made for that length and it reverts to single exit from memory. Ford Accessories sells the slide on chrome tip for 100 bucks. That’s what I threw on mine.

Correct, you lose everything when getting the 157" wheelbase...NO BAP, No dual exhaust. So what I want to know is how you got the BAP on a 157"...cause it's not an option in the Build & Price tool...So in reality you may be way ahead of where you should be...

^^ I didn’t even think of that, how the hell did you get BAP on a 157”?? Ford did you a favor believe it or not giving you the grille, bumpers, and mirrors . You may have one of the rarest refreshes pumped out of the factory. I can see the guys on the line scratching their heads, shrugging, and saying “just do it anyway” lol.

Very happy with the truck and very fortunate I am in the position to be able to purchase one, many wish they could.

I appreciate the info, I had a sneaking suspicion it was the 157" WB. I'd much rather the longer bed and sacrifice the exhaust.

As I reviewed these forums before I ordered I noticed no one had ordered the 157 BAP Lariat. So when I went to place my order I triple checked it was 157, the dealer mashed on the BAP and this abomination was born

Guess the guy from Ford approving the orders was asleep on ths one?

Trust me, if I could have gotten the BAP with the 6.5' bed, I would have. I settled for the Sport instead.

BAP is available on 6.5 bed in Canada?
And it only has the single chrome exhaust tip in the render.

If i were you, since you custom ordered the truck and the dealer has it; i would ask the dealer to swap out the rear bumper and add the dual exhaust with black tips as a dealer installed option. I bet they would accommodate your request in order for you to buy the truck. That way you get everything you wanted.

You could just do something like this for under 100 bucks.

Honestly.. the whole "Dual Exhaust" thing on a truck has always been a 50/50 thing for me. On some trucks it looks good (ie. my RAM Rebel, with big black-chrome tips.. and the way it fits with the bumper).

My favorite truck exhaust was a Dakota R/T 5.9 many years ago with a custom exhaust. It had 4" exhaust (not a tip), coming out of the back passenger corner, on a 45-degree angle down towards the road and 45 degrees to the bed side. The end of the pipe was cut on a 45 degree angle to be parallel to the road, and it stuck down maybe 2 inches from the bottom of the bumper. On that truck, it looked sick. Stealthy but noticeable that something was going on.

If it makes you feel any better, it really is just a single exhaust with an extra pipe added. It is called dual exhaust, but it really is not dual exhaust.
