If anyone wants to offload their broken part, I want a dead one to autopsy. I would prefer a leaking one rather than one with a dead valve code, as part of the info that I need is the resistance across the control valve (which may be incorrect if the valve is dead). I'm happy to pay you for shipping plus whatever they were gonna give you as a core refund.

My ultimate goal is a full delete, with as little whining by the PCM as possible.

After some good advice, I realized that all of the sensors are analog. Further, it is not clear where or if there is an independent valve position sensor or if the system simply monitors voltage changes across the valve control circuit for changes. All of this means that I might be able to get away with a simple resistor across the control wires instead of the whole fitting; I need to measure that resistance, and I'd rather do it on a dead part than on the working one attached to my truck. If that works and keeps the DTC VALVE codes at bay, it will still send DTCs for a lack of expected temperature change in the T1 and T2 coolant temperature sensors. I don't have a good solution other than get it inspected in the summer and live with the CEL otherwise.

I doubt Ford has allowed one into the hands of a customer that had one replaced under warranty?

But no harm asking. :)

Currently dealing with the Exhaust Heat Exchanger Valve problem again. I had the Exchanger replaced back in Aug, at 45,000km. Truck now has 71,000km.

Coolant doesn’t seem to be leaking but Forscan is showing a few codes related to the heat exchanger.

Today I was highway driving and got a message “ Power Reduced to Lower Engine Temperature “

Temperature gauge was in the normal range and truck seems to be running fine.

Anyone else have problems with over heating and P237?

Hi .. I seem to be joining the P237C club with my 22 PB. A couple of questions ...

Some other threads are saying, running in tow mode will not engage the EV system and helped someone through a long trip to avoid coolant leak? I'm couple of hours from the dealer, would I want to drive down in tow mode or just keep an eye on coolant levels throughout the trip?

Also noted that people running in pro-power mode a lot are experiencing this. I run in that mode a ton to power my off grid cabin. I recently turned on eco-idle, which to my understanding revs the engine higher to charge up the battery quicker. Should that be turned off until I get this resolved?

Thanks very much.

FYI - I just received my order for 4 "TUBES" with the O ring on the end. I am not sure if that is the O ring that is causing some of the failures but there is an O ring on one end of these "tube-spouts".

Snake has a load and so do I now so if anyone has this failure, and the dealership says they cannot get this part, there are some people here with supplies to help out. Come to this post if they are needed. :)

so what does it take to get a hold of one of these? my dealership hasn't been able to get the part for two months (exactly today)

What?
They aren't trying then.

Anyone can get these in a few days without expediting or paying extra.
A dealership should be able to get them pretty pronto.

I wonder if they ordered the whole midpipe heat exchanger assembly instead?
That's why Ford has made these tubes available. To save on repair cost and logistics.

I asked what part they ordered, and they told me NL3Z18663A
They have been telling me it is on national backorder

A few members here ordered them recently online, nothing special, and received them in a few days.

If you send me your address, I will ship a couple of mine to you today.

Yes - I dealt with the same. My best guess is that the engine isn’t overheating (as evidenced by your gauge being normal), but that is a generic message for a temperature Delta from the inlet to exit of the heat exchanger being outside of the correct range. If the valve is stuck open, I could easily see the turbos dumping their heat into the exhaust which then gets pushed into the coolant due to the stuck valve, causing the exit temp to be too high and the computer limits power to reduce heat

The code doesn’t indicate a leak. They are separate issues - mine had a code on for 4 months with never a leak. You should be fine to drive in normal mode. In fact, it getting some EV time may help the temperature concern referenced above ^

If Snake does not get you a couple PM me and I will send out a couple. In the meantime you should go to a Ford Supply store and order some. I used Village Ford Parts and got them in about a week. No need to wait that long unless they know you have some other major issue.

On a side note I used to drive a 74 Triumph Spitfire with a removable hard top. That Mazda MX5 with the retractable hard top has always made me drool.

You're the best Kodiak!

We've connected and they will be going out shortly.
So you are in the batters box now. :)
