Huh? If you click each little arrow to drop down the full explanation it says "No action required" for each. Says the same thing for me and everyone with Sync4 and Connected NAV.

But yeah, on this page another instance of Ford recommending WiFi connection to "activate immediate downloads" when we think/know the trucks don't use WiFi access... yet.

I have 22228 and on My Ford website it is showing 22294 waiting to be installed. We shall see if it downloads on its own or if I have to do it myself.

Was just curious if you are REALLY going to wait this time. ?

I'm really starting to think that there was an inherent problem with 22228 that we don't know about and that's why Ford has delayed the 3.5.3 roll out. I think that when they do drop 3.5.3 via OTA the installed version will be 22293. Thus fixing whatever it is that's wrong with 22228 and finally getting the 3.5.3 installed.

You think like a software development team coordinator. :)

Edit: and it would be one explanation for why Ford would release yet another build when they haven't even deployed the previous.

it is possible. 22293 Replaces 22228. meaning Trucks that has 22228 waiting to be installed now only have 22293.

Normally if there was not an issue with 22228 they would leave it in the sequence and make you update to it prior to 22293. They do not. The 22293 package depending on what verison you are updting from varies from 3GB if you have 22228 and 5.7 if you do not. 5.7GB was the size of 22228.

So yes it seems there was an issue with 22228. It doesnt exist anymore.

Thanks @Jesse-Infotainment this confirms my thoughts.
I think that once 22293 is installed this might allow Ford to do more granular updates to the APIM in the future, meaning they would then be able to update just 1 or 2 files as needed instead of the all or nothing method they've used up until now. If this is the case it would be a great improvement for OTA's in the future, and thus not as taxing or dependent on the vehicles battery being up to par for the job of making huge downloads.... and less install failures and headaches for Ford....
