05/09/22 Build week

Called Ford marketing today and they said my truck is on track now for a delivery of June 21st (was October 25th yesterday). Apparently it has left Dearborn and is heading to another plant for a chip? Then making it’s way to the dealer. Has anyone heard of this happening? Not sure if I believe it yet, I was so done with the order that I am supposed to buy another truck Saturday…

That's really interesting, haven't heard anyone go through that. I need to call the marketing then, it's the only one I haven't tried yet. Mine was Oct also, so maybe I'll get lucky and go this route too.

Hard to say if you're out of the woods, there was a post earlier in this thread that some referenced a dealer saying Ford was shipping trucks to dealers with "Red Tags" that prohibited sale until certain parts were installed...

If that's true, you're not out of the woods until your butt is in the drivers seat driving off the lot.

Sounds like your Space 502a is spec'd higher than mine, but currently trucks coming from the KC plant are getting shipped out quickly, is your bedliner factory spray in? Because that happens offsite I've read and that was causing a delay some time ago.

I have the activate button on mine, and the pro power on board. Which the pro power on board and picture of my truck are new today. What happens/ what is reasoning behind hitting the activate button?

FordPass once activated lets you see battery/fuel information, odo reading, remote start etc.

If it is ready to “activate” that generally means your truck is built and ready to go, but this build week has proven that to not always be the case.

That’s exactly what happened to mine, my dealer said there’s a chip hold still but it’s in transit. I just chatted with Ford and they provided me with a rail car # and it claiming there’s no chip hold anymore.

So was the whole October estimate thing yesterday just an error? Seems like a lot of people who where told September/October are now being told June again. I give up haha, when it shows it shows at this point I guess

Curious if this means they got chips inserted on these vehicles either in Dearborn or at some alternate location, or if they’re doing like has been done with other models and sending to the dealer with instructions not to sell until chips are installed by the dealer. The apparent suddenness and the limited but encouraging movement seen by some these last few days makes me think Ford is at least trying to be creative here in keeping things moving.

Rayniqua (chat) now just told me I have no dates anywhere on my build. Just microchip hold with no ETA date of any kind.

Just got off of Ford chat and I'm on chip hold with ETA of 10/28. I updated the sheet to orange and input my date. Best of luck to us all!! Especially you McClane, I've been rooting for you since 21'.

Not fucking around anymore. Now eta of September? Not waiting. Just went and bought A 2022 xlt. Pick up tomorrow. Will trade it in once my lariat arrives. Whenever that is

My dealer confirmed he sees my truck as shipped and with a matching ETA as what Ford told me. There’s also a placeholder listing on my dealer’s website for a new delivery with my Truck’s VIN. Amusing to see a $6X,XXX price tag paired with a stock photo for a base regular cab XL.

Moved from “picked” to “paired” status just now. Still “awaiting shipping” but the “paired” status is new. Now a destination entered into order track app as well. There is hope!

I really think there's something to be said about being in it with others even if you're having a hard time. I don't like seeing anyone, even those who ordered last month on a chip hold now, but folks @Mixxfixx and @Moy really need our support with whatever decision they make, props to @Moy for rocking what is probably a collectors item at this point!

I've updated the sheet, I really hope the sheets start to fill with more green in the coming days/weeks and Ford is really trying better to deliver us our completed trucks.
